I am your father – Star Wars Graffiti by Dolk

March 30, 2007 at 9:09 am 15 comments

While this piece was not from Copenhagen, the other Dolk graffiti’s I posted about are, I thought it was quite funny and had to post on it.

It’s great when art communicates. Dolk’s ability to make a 2-dimensional black and white image communicate is pretty good.

Just like Banksy I think one day his stuff will be valued and people will be kicking themselves for having cleaned it off their walls.

    He’s just copying Banksy.

I love graffiti artists, but this is really annoying, stop stealing Banksy’s style!

Hey we all love stencil grafitti, sure Dolk took his style from Bansky and Banksy probably took it from Blek le Rat and so forth. But at the end it just means more stencils and they are just great.

    The more the merrier!

Cheers and if you have more great links or photos of stencils post the links – I am keen to see some more quality blogs.

Saying he stole Banksy’s style is the same as saying any artist who uses the same medium as a preceding artists stole their style. I’m a fan of Banksy’s work, but using the same medium doesn’t mean he’s copying Banksy. Banksy’s work is about the message, not how the message is conveyed.

Hi there ! thanks a lot for linking to my blog !!! I love the DOLK stencils, unfortunately, it has been a while that I have last seen one “live”. Would you like to interchange links (on the link list) ?
Last time I’ve been to Paris I found some stencils in the Marais, would you know in which other quartier you can find some ?
Keep up the good work !
    greetings, Maya

Sure you on my blogroll! With a blog like that hard to avoid. I haven’t found that many in the Marais, I found some around the Canal St Martin but I heard the best place is around the Flea Market area in the north. The day I went there wasn’t much as it was raining all day but that is from an interview I read with Blek Le Rat. Will post when I found the “hot zone”.
