The original Amazing Photographer – Ansel Adams

Ansel Adams, Tetons and Snake River

Ansel Adams, Tetons and Snake River

As far as I’m concerned the original Amazing Photographer still is Ansel Adams. That HDR technique now makes millions of people into great photographers is maybe because Ansel Adams one day decided to take those fascinating landscapes that seemed to have an extra dimension.

I was stunned when I saw Jean Michel Berts’ photography some years ago as it so reminded me of the work from Ansel Adams – I saw how HDR has become a great (and oft overused) tool for photography as well.

Well I wanted to pay homage to an amazing photographer with some amazing prints. This is Ansel Adams’ “Tetons and Snake River” print from 1942! Can you believe that – 1942 and he was already making these types of high quality prints.

Well for more information on him I suggest the family owned site at http://www.anseladams.com/ which also has the above print for sale on this link: http://www.anseladams.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=1958

Well enjoy a bit of love and beauty.

Amazing Photography in HDR

HDR Photography by Martin Soler

HDR Photography by Martin Soler

With the arrival of the digital equipment (Internet, Cameras, Processing Software and more) Photography seems to be expanding as a subject and more people can afford it. With HDR photography (High Dynamic Range) suddenly a lot more people are able to make amazing stuff.

Jean-Michel Berts still uses film, per my understanding from his site he uses a technique similar to that of Ansel Adams which is the technique prior to HDR but with a similar concept. Serge Ramelli’s photography is great too and he definitely uses HDR.

Now I have been following the site of Martin Soler’s Photo Blog as well which I find interesting too (though nothing like Trey Ratcliff’s site at http://www.stuckincustoms.com) and it’s great to see the new photographers coming up.

I guess there’s an artist in every one of us.

Another Amazing surreal photo of Paris

A few weeks ago I blogged about the photos from Serge of Paris and other areas. He recently redid his site and the result is quite nice, all done in WordPress (yes I did have a word to say in that).

His new site looks like this, the landing page is his blog which is great as it keeps the site alive and human.

I suggest you check it out here.

Serge's site (Photoserge.com) amazing photography of Paris and other areas in black and white and color.

The new site of Serge on http://www.photoserge.com

One of the shots is an amazing black and white shot of the Musee d’Orsay in Paris. The sky is pretty nice and the museum too, but the most amazing in this shot is the sharpness and light effects on the rhinoceros. It is not just the contrast of the photo but the contrast of a rhino overlooking Paris.

Paris in Color – surrealist photography

I recently showed my blog around and showed some of the amazing photography of JM Berts to friends. I am still startled by the photos he takes and the quality of the shots.

A friend of mine showed me some of his photography of Paris (and other places). Some of it is done using a technology called HDR (High Dynamic Range imaging) it’s pretty amazing. I invite you to check out his site (www.photoserge.com) and his blog (there are two one is http://sergeramelli.blogspot.com/ and http://photoserge.com/blog) for some of the shots.

He said he is doing an expo soon and that you can buy photos from him, unfortunately he doesn’t have an online store yet but that is coming soon.

Well Paris is a photogenic city that is for sure…  enjoy [,-]

New York, New York

JM Berts, released a couple of new photos on his blog. This one from New York and then another one from Il Duomo in Milan.

The difference between JM Berts and Ansel Adams is the subject matter and probably that JM Berts has the advantage of perfecting a print using Photoshop.

This is a great one again. I am not posting the one on the Duomo as I find it too dark. But check it out, he’s on my blogroll.

All the best,
Jean-Michel Berts

It’s on the post about the recent New York photo he released which you can find by clicking on this text, thanks to the wonders of HTML.

Now I need to get a comment by Dolk himself… then I’ll have covered some of the two main celebrities that I have been blogging about.
